Peach Tree, Grand or Some kind of Station

Sorry for the title, but I don't know what station I was at today; everyone else seems to know but me. However, I was shooting and enjoyed it for the most part. I am trying to create a slightly different style for diversity. Check my flickr on the right for more photos.

NEW YORK (AP) — Three news agencies refused to distribute White House-provided photos of President Barack Obama in the Oval Office on Wednesday, arguing that access should have been provided to news photographers. (more click here...)

The field trip to Mr. Jing's went very well today. Photos that you see in text and photo books were hanging in front of me. The prints were out of this world. I was very happy to be part of this today and owe Ms. Harkins a round of thanks! Oh yeah the photo is of the house of Mr. Jing, where all the photos were hanging.

Presidential Inauguration from Sweet Auburn – MLK Park

Today I went to MLK Park for the Inauguration, and well it was cold, bone chilling cold. Photo taking was limited because only so many turned out to watch in the cold. I think there was a photographer or TV person for about every 5 people; a lot of cameras going click. Once I get my computer virus under control I will post the remainder of my photos.

Return to film

Today was an awakening for me. I started shooting film again. I don't mean just a couple of shoots or something. I actually picked several rolls. I might try some stuff like cross processing and some of the other proccessing methods that I don't do very much of with the digital camera. The surprising thing was, I had to relearn my old rebel camera. It is so lite compared to the 5d; I was holding it in one hand and spinning the fill flash with the other hand. Any way just a little thought of mine today. I don't have many, so I thought I would share it with other camera folks. Of course, I don't have photos because I didn't feel like hanging out around E6. When I get them I'll share them, perhaps.

Yes, finally, done. One down and I am sure more to go. But I am so glad the first one is down. I now know what direction to go with what photos. For those still waiting, well good luck.

Virginia City, Nevada

A Virginia City, Nevada graveyard. It was said to be haunted by the little girl buried at this site. Notice the other trees are alive but the one beside her grave is dead.
Yes that is the moon up in the sky. And yes the photo has a lot of noise. Almost like film.

Chattahoochee River, Whirlpools

Long exposures of the Chattahoochee River can create these smooth looking swirls. This was a 4 second exposure at F/32 with a 300 mm lens. I did some photo'n filters and brush strokes to make it appear like a painting. Printed it on canvas and it look suprisingly ok. The small or LR version here makes in hard to see but a larger image is on my flickr.
