Do I have enough pixels?

OK, the question about pixels and print size has resurfaced. To help you determine if you have enough of the correct pixels to print large, simply follow this link to Photo Kaboom. This site has some MATH but it is not hard. Any questions please ask. I think everyone should be able to get 16 x 20s out of their photos.

Before the 5D I had an 8mp camera and could see the degeneration of the image at 16X20. Rosira's example in class didn't include the fact that her sensor was far more advanced than those that have older models with 6mps. I say we print someone's photo at the "agreed upon size" that has an older model and see the results. Then re-vote. I don't think we as a group should make it more difficult for others just to pursue our own desires. Kinda selfish if you ask me......

agreed~ The NikonD700, which is what Rosira has, is an entirely different cmos sensor and full frame, at that. The pixel quality itslef is simply superior. For example, 6 mps of one "half an image" is not necessarily the same as 6 mps from another sensor. If it were, we could all just shoot point and shoot 10 mp cameras. I will work with whatever I have to but I am concerned that some of the images I have for portfolio, simply cannot be "reshot".
